Argent
Argent is the heraldic tincture for silver. In practice it is usually painted white rather than silver. Argent is one of the two metals in heraldry, together with Or, and the name comes from the French word for silver.
As a metal, Argent belongs next to a colour. The arms of Nova Scotia, first granted in 1625, are Argent, a saltire azure: a blue cross on a white field, the Scottish flag with its colors swapped. In hatched engravings Argent is the only tincture left plain, with no lines or dots at all.
Pick Argent from the color picker in the coat of arms maker for any white part of the shield, a charge or the motto scroll. Pair it with Gules, Azure, Vert, Sable or Purpure so the design stays clear. The heraldry colors guide lists every metal and colour side by side.
